Second simulated teaching is all about King Lear...oh God, I wish I would die rather than do the things. It so hard till my mouth can't open. Huhu, King Lear is rather hard for us to learm. Why we suppose to learn something that we wouldn't use in the future? Only God knows why... However, for the sake of my pointer, I got to finish my simulated teaching with a good grade. And I am going to present my simulated teaching tomorrow. I pray to god that Dr. Edwin will give me a good grade at least to make sure my pointer won't be down anymore.Argghhh, this week is the most pressure for the rest of my batch as we also have to present our micro teaching with Puan Juridah. The most hard to do King Lear for this simulated teaching is to connect it with another stage. However it is interesting for us when we have to brainstorm till we cannot sleep. Hopefully all of us have a fine grade for all this day.

Second play that I attend, The Homecoming is rather different than Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical. It presented more heavy issues towards life. It argues about moral than love issues and most important it give treats to a play that critics woman. The tension that built in the theater hall is heat as the play began. The actor and actress has given fully cooperation and their contribution has given impact towards the audiences. However, the attire to attend play at KL Pac is rather light and it is not like at Istana Budaya where i have to wear formal attire. Thus it give a perspective to me that attending play is not just for high class status here unlike at Istana Budaya. As a conclusion, even both play used different setting, still the props and the background is same.

Pygmalion

PyGmalion, is one of the issue where we can debate about first impression.Does this first impression help to blind people? In this play, I can tell that it is interesting where Eliza wants to improve herself when she ask for help from Higgins and Pickering. higgins is a scientest of phonetics while Pickering is an Indian linguist. It is rather amusement when both of them can change Eliza in 6 months and she then became alike as a duchess. The issues that came to my mind is do Eliza can pass as a fake duchess and does this phonetics helps to impress people? In a short term, it does help to blind other people. But how long it is going to be? It is for a week or for months? Another issue that I can see is all about moral. Higgins does not show his morality even if he was born in high status family. Contradict to Eliza, she has her own moral when talking about the ethic even she come from low status family. She is intelligent in a way of what we call moral ethic. People should watch this movie as it give some issues to debate on.

The first play

Antigone, is the first play that i learned in EDU 3217. It was fascinating as this play introduce me what is life about and how it circle us. It is a tragis when Antigone has to sacrifice herself in order to create a self awareness towards their family. However, Creon is the antagonist in this play has turn the whole sacrrifise that antigone made into a disaster when he doesn't believe her. And this has turn back to him as he realise at the end of the play that he has been blinded with his proudness as a king. And as for Antigone, she has been sentenced to death. For the consequence, Creon's son has follow antigone by killing himself to prove that antigone is not guilty. As the result, it is late for Creon to realise that she is not guilty. He then killed himself when all of his family is turn over him. It is tragic when peole cannot learn from the past. From what I can tell, one should look back to learn but not to be pesimistic from the past.

A difficult play...

King Lear, as the title shows his name as the protagonist. The play I would rather classified as a difficult play. It deal with the issue of family relationship within the natural role of the family. Lear has divided the kingdom to be given to his daughters. But he asks them to confess their love. When Cordelia doesn't want to confess, he get mad. As the result he has disowned Cordelia. Lear has been blinded (like Creon) by his arrogant and he does not want to hear the reason why Cordelia acting that way. But as this is a tragic play, Lear then has realised his fault and changed. He then realised that both Goneril and Regan does not love him as much as Cordelia do. And it is late when both Cordelia and Lear has being manipulated by Edmund, Gloucester's illegitimate son. Not only them, all of Cordelia's family has being manipulated by Edmund. All of them has been blinded by their own greed. Except for Cordelia who has been the victim. The issue that comes out is whether a natural love should be show of or just make it as a usual action has given an impact to me in reading the play.

Shakespeare Wallah, is one of most enchanting drama that my whole batch have seen on one day, and when we have been asked to watch Shakespeare Wallah for the first time, it seems so boring at the beginning of the film. However, it then becomes more interesting when the conflict arise. Basically, the film is about a struggling English troupe of Shakespearen actors touring India, on an actual theater company called Shakespeariana. The company is consist of an actor and two actress which are a family, Tony, Carla and Lizzie Bukcingham. And the film was set on post-independence India at a time when English influence is dying and the world of Indian filmmaking is beginning to achieve its popularity. In the midst of their travels, the troupe's caravan breaks down, and an Indian playboy, Sanju, stops to help them. Lizzie and this playboy, Sanju then start their romance. But at the same time, Sanju also carries on an affair with a popular Indian film actress, Manjula. The familiar Merchant Ivory theme of misplacement within a society is here in full force. The film explores the two worlds; old British rule versus an independent India as well as the world of staged theater versus the newer medium of filmmaking. As at the first place the film is to show how their difficulties on signifying the Shakespeare play towards the Indian audience and the clash of two different cultures. And at the same time, we have been given how the Buckingham presented some of Shakespeare’s play in the film such as, Hamlet, Cleopatra, and Othello. Overall, the film teaches me how to overcome the difficulties when it does occur.
